SPECIALIST OPHTHALMIC IMAGER
The award winning Ophthalmology Outpatient Department has vacancies for friendly, enthusiastic and caring Specialist Ophthalmic Imager to join our dedicated team of professionals.
Senior ophthalmic imagers seeking promotion and the opportunity to expand their clinical and managerial skills within a fast-paced ophthalmology setting will be challenged to develop and learn new skills to enable you to deliver high quality patient care.
The post holder will be based at the Hull University Teaching Hospitals, Ophthalmology Outpatients and East Riding Community Hospital based in Beverley, and will be expected to travel for further cross site working.

Main duties of the job
- Actively supports patients, communicating complex information using a variety of methods to ensure effective understanding. This will include overcoming language barriers and ensuring that patients have an adequate understanding in order to consent for treatment.
- Maintains up to date knowledge in their field of practice, ensuring they meet professional standards and ensuring that knowledge is evidenced based by attending national imaging meetings, training events and self -directed study.
- Actively contributes to the development of polices and protocols to improve patient care representing the imaging service at departmental business and governance meetings and participating in specialist project groups.
- Specialist diagnostic imaging
- Monitors patient's health and clinical response to treatment plans through interpretation of scan results
