Consultant Radiologist - Abdo pelvic Cross Section Image Intervention

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

The closing date is 01 May 2025

Job summary

These are 4 new posts to meet growing demand in abdomino-pelvic, oncological and general cross sectional imaging. The appointee will form part of a wider group of radiologists providing general cross-sectional reporting with a range of subspecialist interests and add to a dynamic group providing abdominal imaging services which has multidisciplinary team members.

There are opportunities to pursue subspecialist interests, and the appointees should have an established interest in at least one of the following areas: endoscopic techniques/EUS; luminal GI imaging with competency/accreditation in CT colonography; hepato-pancreaticobiliary and urogynaecological imaging, including body MRI.

There will also be the option of contributing to the delivery of a range of non-vascular interventional services across the main hospital sites, including biopsies and drainages, renal access and stenting, biliary intervention and GI stenting.

Main duties of the job

The appointees will undertake a combination of acute and elective body reporting. There will be involvement in clinico-radiological and MDT meetings.

The posts include supervision and training of the specialist registrars.

There will be a contribution to acute out of hours care. This will be either on the body/general rota at a frequency of approximately 1:13 with overnight outsourcing or on the non-vascular IR on call rota at a frequency of 1:8 with overnight call screening.

Work may take place across sites and there is the opportunity to work from home 1 day (or 2 sessions) per week.

The posts could be tailored to suit a locum or less than full time role.

If an appointee is not a UK CCT holder, they will be expected to work towards CCT in clinical radiology via the CESR route within an agreed period. Progress towards this goal will be reviewed regularly.
