Job summary
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated radiographers to join our team in a rotational role in Interventional Radiology (IRT) at Hull Royal Infirmary and the Cardiac Catheter Labs at Castle Hill Hospital.
As we are a regional centre for many interventions, you would gain experience in a wide range of procedures; vascular procedures, including EVAR; neuro interventional procedures (involving complex intervention and acute thrombectomy for stroke);cardiac procedures EP, Complex Devices, complex PCI and TAVI.
There will be out of hours work and an on call rota in both IRT and the cardiac cath labs that applicants must be willing to take part in. You must be available within 30 minutes when on call.
The normal working hours at present are Monday-Friday with a 24/7 on-call service, however, we are planning on having a 7-day service at both sites in the future.As a Band 6 Radiographer you'll join a remarkable team for a fulfilling career that's committed to great care working closely with patients.
There are three interventional radiology theatres at Hull Royal Infirmary, situated near the city centre, 1 Neuro and 2 Vascular labs. There will be a 4th room for emergency patients opening July 2025.
There are four recently refurbished cardiac cath labsat Castle Hill Hospital situated on the outskirts of Hull, approximately 5 miles away. Castle Hill is the regional cardio-thoracic and oncologycentre.
Main duties of the job
Minimum requirements are BSc or DCR(R) in Diagnostic Radiography and ideally but not essential, some experience in interventional radiology/cardiac procedures. CPD and flexible working are actively supported, including an on-call commitment and Professional Development reviews are undertaken using E-PDR. In return, you will receive all the advice, training and support you need to go far. The department is committed to the continuing education of our Radiographers. CPD is actively encouraged and supported with the Radiology department running a number of educational events throughout the year.
