  • A 4-day working week, so you get that extra time for yourself.
  • Minimal weekend commitment -- just 1 in 8 Saturdays and 1 in 8 Sundays.
  • After training, you'll also be part of our on-call team currently with 1 night in 20--plus a buddy system to guide you through those first few calls!

Main duties of the job

As a post-registration pharmacist, you'll be fully supported on your journey to becoming a Band 7 clinical pharmacist. You'll have named mentors who will guide you every step of the way, ensuring you receive the support and supervision needed to excel.

You'll embark on a comprehensive foundation training programme, which includes:

  • Studying for the Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice
  • In-house practice supervision and hands-on mentoring

This is a progression post, designed to take you to the next level. After completing key training milestones--currently year one of the Diploma--and submitting a successful portfolio of evidence, you'll progress to Band 7, moving into specialist rotations and starting your prescribing qualification.

As a post-registration pharmacist, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering a clinical pharmacy service to designated wards
  • Offering expert advice to medical and nursing staff, as well as to patients, on the safe and effective use of medicines
  • Facilitating medicine reconciliation, discharge planning, and patient counselling
  • Supporting inpatient dispensaries

To be eligible for this role, you must be aregistered pharmacist or a trainee pharmacist eligible for GPhC registration in January 2025. Offers for Band 7 post will be considered base don previous experience and qualification.
