Job summary

We are looking for a reliable, committed and enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant to join the Homecare team working between HRI and CHH. You should have an NVQ level 2 qualification in pharmacy services and previous recent pharmacy experience

The Senior Pharmacy Assistant will assist the Pharmacy Technical Team in the smooth running of the Pharmacy Homecare Service, including generating and receiving of Homecare purchase orders and reviewing homecare procedures as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for processing , reconciliation, receipting of orders and dispensing of Homecare drugs as well as processing and producing documentation relating to Homecare deliveries in a timely fashion. You will support the Homecare team with the raising, monitoring of query responses and to ensure resolution is sought with suppliers and clinical teams ensuring supplier statements are maintained and debt level monitored

You will be expected to maintain and regularly update any Pharmacy Homecare service operating procedures under the direction of the Senior Technician

You will maintain skills in the dispensary and will undertake regular dispensary sessions

You should hold an NVQ level2 in pharmacy services and be a competent and confident dispenser. Further training will also be provided to support you in this role.The successful applicant will take a pro-active approach, have excellent communication and customer service skills and be keen to embrace change and look at new ways of working.

The Pharmacy Department offers a range of flexible working arrangements, including the possibility of occasional working from home once trained. To meet the changing needs of the service, the duties and working times attached to this post may be subject to reasonable change in the future. Participation in the late night, weekend and Bank Holiday working arrangements is a requirement of this post.
