Labour Ward Housekeeper

Job summary

The post holder will be an essential part of the Labour Ward team coordinating all Hotel Services on the Labour Ward. Working as part of the team to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role involve:

To oversee domestic duties

Assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards on the ward

Participate in both domestic monitoring and PEAT inspections

Spot cleaning i.e. ensure spillage's are dealt with swiftly and efficiently

By working with, and following guidance from the nursing team, ensure equipment (both clinical and non-clinical) is in a clean condition and available for immediate use

Upkeep of ward appearance

Maintain up keep of patients bed area

Maintain linen stocks on the ward ensuring a system is in place to notify the linen room supervisor of returns and re-washes

Ensure bed curtains are clean and in a good state of repair. Set up a curtain cleaning rota as appropriate

Bed making where appropriate

Ensure damp dusting of work spaces

Kitchen is clean and stocked with necessary equipment

Ordering Meals and Refreshments

to be responsible for the management of the wards defect call log book, ensuring all defects are logged, reported, recorded and closed down as appropriate

Establish progress with incomplete works and requests

Work closely with the site team to ensure structural work is carried out
