Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Locum Specialist Grade in Clinical Oncology specialising in Breast and Urology cancers. This post of Specialist Grade in Clinical Oncology is part of the cancer team working across East Yorkshire, North-East Lincolnshire and Goole.It is anticipated that the post will be based within the Queen's Centre for Oncology and Haematology with additional responsibility for caring for patients with cancer at the Scarborough General Hospital.
The Queen's Centre is based at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, in beautiful, rural surroundings just to the west of the City of Kingston upon Hull. The centre was opened in 2008 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and has won several awards for architecture.
Main duties of the job
The oncology and haematology department offers a full range of adult cancer services with 116 inpatient beds, full outpatient facilities including a designated chemotherapy delivery suite and 6 linear accelerators. There is ongoing service expansion which requires additional consultants and hospital specialists to maintain and further develop the high quality of specialist care we deliver. We are therefore looking for committed and ambitious hospital specialist colleagues to join our team and drive forward this expansion, maintaining The Queen's Centre's place as one of the most innovative and exciting departments in which to practice oncology in the UK.
