Job summary

Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking to recruit a Band 2 Therapy Helper to join our diverse team of allied health professionals and support staff who work across a range of clinical specialties within an acute care setting.

The post holder will work alongside colleagues to support the administrative and clinical delivery of therapy across a range of clinical conditions, which present with varying degrees of complexity. As a Therapy Helper, you will provide administrative support essential to the efficiency of the Therapy service as well as assisting therapy staff with the treatment of patients who present within acute care to facilitate recovery, promote well-being and optimise independent functioning as far as reasonably possible in all areas of life

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to complement our Therapy Service at Castle Hill hospital on Elective Orthopaedics, although there is a requirement to be able to work at any site and within any clinical area within the Trust.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic person to gain experience working as a Therapy Helper. The post holder will assist and support Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists within the Inpatient Therapy service with a range of clerical /administrative and clinical duties. These will include stock control related to patient equipment and information processing and also direct patient contact working under direct supervision.

Experience in working with customers/ patients/clients is a prerequisite of this post.

The post holder will be required to contribute to the weekend and Bank Holiday service.

We offer excellent in-service training and there is supervision in all clinical areas, personal development is a high priority and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to developing new skills.
