Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Community Midwifery Admin Team, Women's and Children's Hospital, Temporary contract for 1 year.
You will be responsible for using Trust maternity systems, inputting data related to maternity care, booking appointments, filing and updating data throughout the maternity care episode and data bases.
In this role you will work with and support a team of enthusiastic midwives who provide midwifery care in the community settings and the hospital environment, providing administration and clerical duties.
You will act as first line contact for patients, members of the public and staff wishing to contact the community midwifery team by telephone, email or in person.

Hours of work to be arranged to cover Monday to Friday 08.30 -17.00 in the Community midwives' office . Some occasional weekend work may be required, and a flexible approach to working hours to suit the needs of the service

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for providing clerical support to the community midwifery team in both hospital and community setting. The department supports the services of Direct Access self-referral to midwifery, telephone liaison for members of the public, patients, midwives and the wider public services, and the inputting of data via the Lorenzo and other trust IT systems. Inputting data related to maternity care, filing, and updating data throughout the maternity episode.
You will be liaising with patients referring themselves for maternity care, ensuring accurate data is obtained and appropriate and timely appointment are given to patients.
Responsible for retrieving information from Maternity Lorenzo system including postnatal discharges, screening results, ultrasound data and tests.
With care centered around the patient being your main goal, you will be involved in helping patients make choices around their care to help make their experience as safe, informative and supported as possible.
