Job summary
Applications are invited for Trust Doctor ST4-7 level within Obstetrics & Gynaecology for a period of 6 months initially, subject to review .
The post will enable the service to maintain an adequate level of Obstetrics & Gynaecology activity and will be an excellent opportunity for candidates looking gain further experience in the speciality.
This post is a service post and will not be recognised for training.
As a Trust Doctor taking up one of these positions you will receive:
- A named Clinical Supervisor
- 10 Study Days Leave per annum
- £500 of Study Leave Allowance per annum

- An assigned Appraiser and access to Multi-Source Feedback 360 (if required) and an Appraisal System
This post falls under the remit of HUTH's GMC Sponsorship scheme if required by the successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
The Gynaecology Service, based at the Hull and East Yorkshire Women and Children's Hospital and Castle Hill Hospital, provides a consultant-led service for women with diseases or disorders of the reproductive system.
A high proportion of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are provided on a day-care basis. An Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit for complications in early pregnancy and an Emergency Gynaecology Unit is available at Hull and East Yorkshire Women and Children's Hospital. The Trust provides a medical and surgical termination of pregnancy service. Access to licensed sub-fertility treatment is available at the independently run Hull IVF unit.
Gynaecology Oncology services are based in modern facilities at the Castle Hill Hospital site. Colorectal surgery, urology, plastic surgery and vascular surgery are based at Castle Hill Hospital and medical and clinical oncology services are in a purpose built comprehensive cancer centre at Castle Hill Hospital. Specialist Nurses and a full multidisciplinary team provide support to the Gynaecology Oncology Service.
