Job summary

The Radiology Department in Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to recruit a band 5 Deputy Radiology IT Systems Manager.

This is an exciting time to join the Department of Radiology as we are introducing the Agfa Enterprise Imaging (EI) solution (PACS).

The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Radiology Information Systems (PACS/RIS & VR) providing support to system users and ensuring that the system and related interfaces are functioning correctly so that the effective provision of digital imaging systems continues 24/7 - internal and external to the Trust. You will work closely with the Radiology IT Systems Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Information Technology components of the Radiology Department.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent IT, communication and organisational skills together with the ability to work under pressure. You are required to have knowledge and understanding of the Radiology Department and it's IT systems. Weekend and out of hours working is required in this role.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Radiology Information Systems (PACS/RIS & VR) providing support to system users and ensuring that the system and related interfaces are functioning correctly so that the effective provision of digital imaging systems continues 24/7 - internal and external to the Trust.

The post holder will play a lead role in the deployment of new systems and upgrades, particularly around IT and infrastructure. This will include working with IT Services and Suppliers in relation to servers, clients and networks

The post holder will play a lead role in the development of the existing IT infrastructure within the department

The post holder will have a key role in the training of system users and provide continuous advice and support on the use of the Radiology IT systems.

Initiate appropriate action to notify and log all system incidents, ensuring that the necessary action is taken to resolve incidents in accordance to agreed contractual targets. Responsible for the escalation of incidents and issues to the Radiology IT Systems Manager and Trust CRS Programme Manager as and when appropriate.
