Job summary
To work as part of the clinical support services team to contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and effective medical administration service across the Emergency Division.
To provide a comprehensive high quality secretarial and administrative support to the Triumvirate, Consultants and Senior Managers as appropriate.
To prioritise and act on own initiative to deal with matters which arise in support of the Triumvirate, Consultants and Senior Management Team.
Coordinate and undertake administrative duties relating to junior doctors and permanent medical staff. Ensure adequate cover, supervision, training and rota management is maintained for the effective provision of medical staff services within the Emergency Department.

Main duties of the job
- Promote clear and effective communication between members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Exchange information with patients and staff for appointments, verbally and in writing.
- Act as main point of contact for the medical staffing within the Emergency Division for all staff, partners and members of the public.
- Provide a prompt and efficient response to all medical staffing queries in an accurate and confident manner with liaison, where required, with Medical Staffing Human Resources.
- To maintain daily contract with the on-take team, to ensure attendance and highlighting emergency gaps and taking action as determined by Consultants and Senior Managers.
- To liaise with the lead consultants within the Emergency Division to ensure appropriate duty rotas are prepared within the necessary timeframe and those adjustments to rotas are agreed and accepted.
- Tact required when dealing with e.g. sickness or compassionate leave requests.
- Communicates complicated rota information to staff from other departments and with external Agencies.
- To be able to data in-put from E-Roster to a live rota for ED.
