Job summary

We are seeking the permanent position of a Senior Ward Sister for Ward 70, within the Medicine Health Group .

Ward 70 is a 25 bedded mixed sex ward caring for patients with both general medical conditions as well as specialising in Rheumatology.

This is a fantastic opportunity, the Health Group and Divisions being fast paced, dynamic and in an exciting period of change, aiming to benefit both our patients and staff.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic senior nurse to join a progressive nursing team within the Health Group.

The role is key in advancing and assuring clinical best practice and patient care as well as ensuring that nursing services are patient specific, efficient and effective.

You will be proactive, have excellent leadership and communication skills and an in depth knowledge of the nursing, quality and safety agendas.

You will predominantly work at Hull Royal Infirmary but must have the ability to travel between sites in order to attend meetings and cross cover for your colleagues as required. Dynamic and innovative individuals are sought to complement the existing teams and join the management team in the leadership and direction of a forward thinking, rapidly advancing division.

Main duties of the job

There is a specific requirement for visible, accessible and strong clinical leadership and of being a role model.

For all these posts, you will be keen to develop both yourself and the service for the benefit of patients, be a senior nurse and be expected to reflect the Trust's vision and values, contributing to the Divisional, Health Group and Corporate Trust Agendas.

You will have a willingness to develop your scope of practice and have sound knowledge of nursing, leadership and management. Excellent leadership skills and the ability to work with and manage multidisciplinary teams are essential.
