This is a development post with progression to a Band 7 on completion of relevant Level 7 modules in autonomous practice, clinical assessment and examination and decision-making.
1 x full time post. Primarily Monday-Friday but may be required to work some weekends to cover the needs of the service
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible Registered Children's Nurse to join the existing team in a journey of healthcare transformation as part of the remodelling of Community Paediatric Services locally, which includes the statutory responsibilities, Neurodisability/Neurodevelopmental and the Neurology service within HUTH.
The successful applicant will work alongside the wider team to support the service in meeting statutory responsibilities for children and young people with SEN and Disabilities. This will include providing the point of contact for local authorities, schools and colleges seeking health advice and actively contributing to EHCP assessments.
The successful applicant will be supported to develop into a highly skilled autonomous practitioner
You will work under the direction of a Consultant body to monitor and implement care within the neurodevelopmental service which will include structured developmental assessments for high risk groups of children.
Main duties of the job
It will be necessary for you to work flexibly across the caseload of patients and carers away from HUTH premises which will include the patient's home, school, educational facility and the wider community.
This post will work alongside the wider Multi-disciplinary team and other health care professionals within Primary and Secondary care and the voluntary sector.
You should be enthusiastic and is expected to complete appropriate Level 7 modules in paediatric clinical assessment, examination and decision making to enable the individual to function autonomously and to develop expertise in the management of children and young people with Neurodevelopmental and SEN and Disability.
