Job summary
Responsible for the production of procedure packs and reprocessing of medical & surgical instrument sets including specialist instrumentation
Ensures that work is performed to an acceptable standard and in compliance with written specifications & procedures.
Assists, as required, in the co-ordination of activities to meet with service demand.
Within CDU we have 5 Team Leaders, 4 Supervisors and 44 Decontamination Technicians who work closely together to ensure all instrumentation is processed in a timely manner
Main duties of the job
Ensure that all items are prepared, assembled & packaged in accordance with defined specifications
Operate sterilization equipment
Perform duties within the sterile store / despatch area
Prepare and package established requirements for individual 'single use' medical & surgical items
Undertake the reprocessing of procedure packs, entailing the disassembly, washing, inspection / assembly and packaging of such equipment
