Job summary

BAND 5 STAFF NURSE - Occupational Health Department 30 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to come to work with the Trust's Occupational Health Team. This very busy SEQOHS accredited department employs specialist nurses, registered nurses, counsellors, administrative support staff and a Consultant Occupational Physician on a sessional basis. The department provides a service to employees of the trust and a limited number of small to medium workforces in the local community. The role will involve undertaking recruitment health screening, health promotion, administration of vaccines, venepuncture, health promotion, health surveillance involving audiometry and lung function tests and providing support to employees experiencing psychological difficulties. A comprehensive induction and training programme and professional support from experienced Occupational Health nurses will be provided and opportunities for on-going personal and professional development will be available. The hours are to be worked between Monday and Friday during normal office hours but requests for 22.5 hours a week may be considered. You will be required to work at both the Castle Hill and Hull Royal Departments and be prepared to be flexible in terms of annual leave and days worked to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

As a registered nurse the post-holder will be required to undertake a wide range of work-related health assessments and procedures for employees of Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the department's external clients.
