HUTH and NLaG have a strong track record of working together to ensure the stability and sustainability of clinical services, with the recent development of the region-wide Integrated Care System Humber Acute Services (HAS) programme, and now extending to the leadership of cancer services.
A newly established post, and an opportunity to harmonise the strategic Clinical Leadership for Cancer Services across HUTH and NLAG as part of a Triumvirate as the Lead Cancer Clinician - Associate Medical Director (with Lead Cancer Nurse and Lead Cancer Manager).
The integrated HUTH and NLAG Cancer Leadership team priorities and service aims are derived from the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP), which was published in January 2019, and set out stretching ambitions and commitments to improve cancer outcomes and services in England through to 2029.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual with the ability to think strategically, who is able to lead and deliver positive change in a triumvirate model and working with Cancer MDT leads across both trusts with a strong focus on service improvement.

The post is being offered on a 3 year tenure and will be supported by two Clinical Lead posts in each Trust at 1 PA each.
About us
HUTH has two main sites: Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital with an annual budget of approximately £500 million. The Trust employs around 11,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.25 million, delivering a number of outpatient services from locations across the area.
The Trust's secondary care service portfolio is comprehensive, covering the major medical and surgical specialties, routine and specialist diagnostic services and other clinical support services. These services are provided primarily to a catchment population of approximately 600,000 in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire area.
HUTH provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of 1.25 million extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively.
