Therapeutic Radiographer

We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity to commence your radiotherapy career or gain new experiences with the vacancy of a Therapeutic Radiographer role across the pre-treatment andtreatment delivery aspect of the radiotherapy pathway.

We invite applications from highly motivated, enthusiastic Therapeutic Radiographers or students that will qualify in the near future.

The radiotherapy team is a patient centred multi-professional and enthusiastic team including the Radiotherapy managers, Consultant Therapeutic Radiographers, Advanced Practitioners, Team Leaders, Senior Therapeutic Radiographers, Therapeutic Radiographers, Radiotherapy Nurse Practitioners, Radiotherapy Clinical Support Workers and our booking team. Macmillan has adopted the entire radiotherapy team which will provide you with excellent resources for your role, CPDopportunities and access to funding. The department is based at the Queen's Centre at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham; a purpose built centre that has a range of facilities for our patients along with access to Macmillan services and our Living with and beyond team. The equipment profile of the service includes 2 Varian Halcyon, 3 and soon to be 4 Varian Truebeams, all of which have IGRT capabilities, 2 Siemens CT scanners and Varian Aria software

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to build good relationships with patients, families and colleagues within the radiotherapy service and wider MDT.

The post holder must have a good knowledge of radiotherapy localisation and treatment delivery and verification and the modalities used for radiotherapy localisation and treatment delivery and verification with an enthusiasm to develop their knowledge base in future developments of radiotherapy.

Newly qualified Therapeutic Radiographers are given a comprehensive induction period to enable you to gain competences throughout the pathway, you will be provided with a mentor and have regular catch ups to ensure we are providing the optimum training package for you.

The post holder will be expected to work with their team to ensure a high quality and safe service in the daily operational delivery in pre-treatment and treatment delivery. This includes supporting your team and students, the post holder will be encouraged to develop for example attending CPD and participate in departmental projects.
