Physician Associate in Oncology and Haematology
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physician Associate (PA) to join the existing PA Oncology/Haematology team at HUTH. The post will be based at the Queens Centre for Oncology and Haematology at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham. The PA team within Oncology and Haematology is relatively new and there will be scope within the role to develop new competencies and procedural skills as the PA role matures, especially post PA registration.
Main duties of the job
You must be a suitably qualified Physician Associate on the Managed Voluntary Register. Although experience in Oncology or Haematology would be an advantage appropriate training and support will be given to the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake clinical assessment and examination of patients, initiate clinical interventions and treatments, and provide continuity of care from a medical perspective. The role will mostly be based on the in-patient wards (three Oncology and one Haematology ward) within the Queens Centre; however, there is also the possibility of working in the out-patient clinics depending on previous experience and competence.
The Trust operates a One year preceptorship for newly qualified PAs, and may require newly appointed PAs to undertake additional specific competencies depending on the their prior experience and knowledge.
If you are looking for a challenging yet rewarding position, we would welcome your application. We are looking for suitably qualified and motivated individuals who have the drive, ambition and positivity to make this role succeed.
