Job summary
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the DOPMHS West Team, in West Sussex, covering the geographical area of Chichester and rural surrounding area, and provide medical input into the West Sussex SOAMHS Triage. This vacancy has arisen due to the current post holder moving role, and the Trust regards this as an opportune moment to join the team to help lead its development.
This post completes the medical establishment of the team providing 2.6 whole time equivalent Consultant Psychiatrists for the DOPMHS West Team in addition to their Triage sessions.
The post holder will be community-based working and is split 5.25 PAs in DOPMHS West (based at Drayton House, Chichester), 2.25 PAs Triage, and 2.5 SPAs.
This posts attracts aRecruitment and Retention payment of £45,000structured over a three-year period as follows:
o£15,000 payable upon successful recruitment
o£10,000 payable at 12 months' service
o£10,000 payable at 24 months' service
o£10,000 payable at 36 months' service
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to review patients already known to DOPMHS as required, during their journey through the system. The post holder will direct the treatment of these patients.
DOPMHS is comprised of a multidisciplinary team, as outlined in section 4. DOPMHS provides a service during core working hours only (9am to 5pm). There is one multidisciplinary team (MDT) member on duty each day, to manage urgent or emergency situations.
DOPMHS provides assessment, treatment and care in geographically defined areas to meet the health and social cares needs of their population.
The post holder will liaise with local primary care services and provide advice and guidance via the role in Triage for patients who may or may not be currently open on the caseload of the NMHT.
