Senior Nurse Practitioner B7 - permanent post (3 days per week)
We have a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Nurse Practitioner. Lewes Neighbourhood Mental Health Team is a lively multi-disciplinary community service for adults with severe mental illness. The service is based in Newhaven, within the beautiful landscape of the South Downs National Park and is only a few miles from the cosmopolitan city of Brighton. Community mental health services have now been transformed and the new Neighbourhood teams offer a fully integrated service across primary and secondary care.
Main duties of the job
Our Senior Nurse Practitioner plays a pivotal role. They are responsible for the supervision of Nurses in the service and the development of nurse apprenticeships and student placements. They oversee clinical practice and governance within the clinic and they are part of the leadership team shaping the on-going development of the service.

- Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role.
- Degree/diploma level supplemented by specialist qualification, training, experience, courses to masters level equivalent relevant to the care group
- Evidence of post registration training in relevant service area
- Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
- Extensive post qualifying experience in relevant service area
- Experience of supervising staff and students
- Able to manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health needs
- Comprehensive knowledge of interventions specific to service area
- Awareness of Trust policies and service specification
