Job summary
We are looking for an experienced, proactive and organised administrator to join the Medical Education Team. As an experienced administrator with a problem-solving, solutions-focused approach to their work, the post holder will be a team player, proactive and confident in using their own initiative to ensure that the work of both the immediate team and that of the wider Medical Education team runs efficiently.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide support for various workstreams within the department, such as event planning and practical support, study leave processes, and involvement with the weekly teaching programme. The postholder will also provide business support for the Medical Education Manager and Director of Medical Education.
About us
Please note that the Department of Psychiatry will be relocating from Eastbourne to our new mental health hospital in Bexhill in late 2026. The Eastbourne office will initially be the designated workplace for this postholder with a move to Bexhill once the new hospital opens. The postholder will be required to travel regularly to support training activities and events at other Trust sites such as Sussex Education Centre in Hove, as well as external venues.
This post is suitable for hybrid working but office-based days may vary week to week depending on the events and activities that are taking place.

- Good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above
Knowledge/experience

- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Teams.
- Significant experience of a range of secretarial procedures.
- Experience of producing documents to a high standard of presentation with good accuracy
- Proven experience of minute taking.
- Experience of maintaining detailed database and spreadsheet information
- Experience of introducing changes to working practices, policies and systems and sustaining improvements
