Job summary
As a member of the Peer Support team in the Engagement and Experience directorate the post holder will contribute to the development and support of peer support roles in the Trust. You will be a Senior Peer Support Coordinator for a designated area or range of services. You will be an ambassador and an expert on peer support, contributing to the strategy for supporting new roles, measuring outcomes and developing peer leadership in our Trust.
Main duties of the job
Support services in a designated area to coordinate the activities of peer support workers, who are part of multidisciplinary teams offering direct support and care. Provide peer support workers one to one supervision and support, including with wellbeing at work, development and reflection on the impact of the role. Provide regular and accessible group supervision spaces for peer support workers, based on locality or service, using reflective practice techniques.
Work in partnership with the division, service or team, to ensure meaningful peer support job design and delivery is supported. Deliver team readiness workshops and training to clinical teams enabling them to understand the value of lived experience roles for the whole service.
Assist services with recruitment, so that it can be accessible, inclusive and linked to peer support values. Support the service to deliver appropriate induction for new peer support workers and advise on issues around job role and adjustments.
About us
Working within the Trust's established systems and structures for involving and employing people with lived experience, you will act as a Senior Peer Support Coordinator for the service or area, including contributing to and developing peer support network links within the Trust, and with external agencies.
This role reports directly to the Recovery College and Peer Support Manager in the Engagement Directorate. You will work with a range of internal services including Human Resources and Occupational Health to ensure robust processes are in operation for the recruitment and maintenance of wellbeing of peer support workers.

Alongside the Peer Support team and other partners, you will evaluate the impact of peer support outcomes in individual and group work and in different settings, adding to the evidence base of what makes peer support effective.
By attending peer support networks, you will increase your knowledge of current developments and disseminate findings to enhance peer support delivery. You will maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies in relation to service user groups, peer support and mental health.
