Job summary
- The Digital Specialist Clinician will be responsible for contributing and supporting advancing clinical quality and safety through the optimal use of digitally enabled clinical initiatives that effect or involve clinical practice. The role will focus on optimisation and innovation via Microsoft 365 (M365) and the electronic patient record (EPR)
- A key aspect of this role will be to lead and support clinical colleagues to embrace and adopt transformational change associated with the digital agenda under the leadership of the Digital Clinical Leads and the Digital Programme team, and to act as a liaison between the Trust's clinical collective and the EPR and M365 programmes.
- This post is part of a team consisting of clinical, technical, and operational roles within the digital team that will ensure the digital agenda is strategically aligned with future models of care, workforce strategies and addresses the day-to-day operational challenges facing SPFT services and partners.
- This role also supports the Trust's Transformation Programme providing clinical leadership by linking digital and operational transformation.
Main duties of the job
- The main element is the safe deployment of the new EPR.
- The post holder will maintain high visibility in clinical areas and be aware of current issues through undertaking activities such as clinical practice or observations of care.
- The post holder will be expected to attend clinical sites and the office as required, there will be limited home working opportunities.The post holder will be one of a team of digital clinicians, supporting and assisting the Digital Clinical Leads on digital clinical safety and user led design, working with relevant working groups/projects, services and initiatives to provide digital transformation, information and contribute towards analytical advice and expertise.
- The post holder will report to their Divisionally aligned Digital Clinical Lead and escalate issues as necessary.
- The post holder will assist services to achieve their objectives / realise benefits through the adoption and effective use of digital technologies, providing valued support and guidance through key digital initiatives (M365 and EPR) and user led design.The post holder will support services to deliver the Trusts objectives and Quality agenda.
- The post holder will be required to develop and maintain relationships with a broad range of internal and external, clinical, non-clinical and corporate stakeholders to ensure that the outputs from digital transformation meet their needs
