Job summary

Due to promotion, we are looking to recruit/second a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic Team Leader to join our Specialist Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS) until October 2025.

SFEDS works with young people aged 10-18 with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa and their families, and supports recovery through Evidence Based Interventions such as Maudsley Family Therapy models, group work, and CBT-E.

You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team which is comprised of a service manager, psychiatry, paediatrics, Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Clinical Psychology and Assistant Psychologists, Occupational Therapy, Nurses, Support Workers, Dietitian, and Social Workers with support from administration team. Our team is responsible for covering all of Sussex, operating as a hub and spoke model. The hub is moving to Aldrington House, Hove with spoke sites in Horsham, hove and Hailsham.

Main duties of the job

As the Team Leader, you will lead and manage the day to day running of the service, supporting both the clinical team. You will also hold clinical responsibility in ensuring there is sufficient resource to cover the service treatment and intervention's for families/carers and young people in line with evidence based treatment.

In order to be a successful you will be:

  • A Registered Mental Health Nurse OR Qualified Psychotherapist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist
  • Comfortable in providing intervention and treatment for young people with eating disorders
  • Experienced in coordinating and managing a team
  • Happy and able to travel across Sussex for home visits

It would also be advantageous if you have:

  • Experience within an CAMHS Service and / or Eating Disorders but not essential.

SPFT supports Flexible Working arrangements; staff can apply for this in line with the policy and in agreement with your line manager.

This is a full time post, part-time hours can be considered Minimum 22.5 hrs per week.

Staff are required to be on site for 60% of their working week.

MAIN DUTIES

To coordinate and lead team functioning with particular focus on;

    • Management of referrals including delivery of care
    • Performance monitoring and management
    • Line Management and supervision of staff.
    • Lead on development of a research framework, including evaluation and audit in order to provide an evidence-based treatment model
