Job summary

If so, our Assistant Psychologist role may be just right for you!

This is a post in our developing CAMHS Cognitive Behaviour Therapy pathway and is part of a wider, well established Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) in Brighton and Hove. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality CBT service that complements the work of our wider CAMHS colleagues, and this role will include explore ways in which to meaningfully evaluate the effectiveness of our work with children and young people.

Sussex CAMHS is also involved in supporting innovative practice using digital technologies and part of this role is likely to involve supporting us to implement these new platforms into our practice.

Main duties of the job

To assist qualified CAMHS staff in responding to children, young people in need of mental health support.

To assist with the provision of psychological interventions for young people in CAMHS.

To provide a key role, under supervision, in the monitoring, implementing, collecting and analysis of outcome measures within CAMHS.

To contribute to relevant evaluation, audit and project work, including carrying out relevant literature reviews, preparing databases and writing reports.

The post holder will have their work managed and supervised by a Clinical Psychologist.

We know services improve when they listen to the people who use them, and we are committed to creating a culture of shared decision making within our CAMHS service. Subsequently, in B+H CAMHS we are working hard to find new ways to involve young people and their families in the decisions made about them, and in service improvement initiatives.

This role will provide opportunities, alongside colleagues, to work under the guidance of our participation manager to help exploring new and creative ways of involving our young people in their care and service developments. This may involve activities such as helping to facilitate the local participation groups, focus groups and feedback sessions.

About us

Our trust provides mental health and learning disability care for children, young people and adults across Sussex and for children and young people in Hampshire. This post is based with Brighton and Hove CAMHS and will specifically involve working with families and young people in the city, and with the agencies that support them.
