Job summary

The South East Forensic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (SE FCAMHS) is looking for a trainee Forensic Psychologist to join the team. The role would suit someone seeking to complete a 6 month placement towards their programme of professional training and registration with the HCPC, for example via completion of a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology.

Main duties of the job

The role includes provision of consultation to professional networks, indirect risk assessment (including SAVRY and AIM3), development of formulations and intervention plans, and development and provision of teaching and training, under the supervision of a HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist (Forensic and/or Clinical). The post holder will predominantly work remotely across Sussex, Surrey, and Kent & Medway. They may choose which of these three areas to complete any direct assessments and interventions, however these opportunities may be limited. As such, the role may suit a trainee who is already competent in direct client work and is looking to gain experience in the areas of consultation, formulation, and teaching and training. Travel to monthly regional meetings would be expected and these may take place in Maidstone, Crawley, or Hailsham. Please get in contact if you are unsure if the placement will meet your required aims, objectives, and competencies.
