Laundry Assistant

Job summary

To provide the highest possible standards of laundry, washing and ironing of patient clothing.

To observe current Health & Safety Regulations, and strictly adhere to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Policy and Waste Disposal Policy

Main duties of the job

Collect patient laundry, noting owner's room and name

Process laundry (washing/drying/ironing as required) including soiled laundry for patients who are incontinent

Return clean clothing to appropriate patient room

Inform the Ward Admin of any maintenance work required or any defects to equipment

Ensure that stock levels are maintained at all times

Undertake any other duties as may be required by line management internal job rotation and absence cover.
