The role is as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing high standards of assessments and treatment for older people (65 and older) admitted to St Richard's. Our patients will have an accompanying physical health need and referrals to our service are usually made when their mental health issues (functional and organic needs) present with complicating factors during their admission.

You must be confident in your ability to support patients with complex mental illnesses and their families/carers. Most importantly, must be a team player who is also able to work autonomously and forge strong links with our community colleagues. Two years post registration experience is required and you wouldhave ideally worked within Community Mental Health Settings or Liaison services.

If you feel you have the drive, interest and professionalism that we require to deliver a quality service, we would welcome your application.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide comprehensive assessments/ risk assessments of mental health specific to the needs of the client, in line with the ethos and targets of the liaison service.
  • To manage clients 65 years and over with complex mental health needs, considering how risks can be best managed within a general hospital environment.
