Job summary

We are excited to welcome applications for the role of Senior Medical Education Administrator (SMEA) within the Medical Education Department at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

The Medical Education Management Team are very keen to further develop and raise the profile of Medical Education within North-West Sussex and we see this role as fundamental to delivering this. We are therefore looking for applicants to bring ideas and initiatives as to how we can achieve this.

Led by the Director of Medical Education (DME), the Clinical Tutor, and the Medical Education Manager (MEM), the Department works towards improving and assuring the quality of postgraduate medical teaching and learning and aims to improve the recognition of the Trust as a Centre of Excellence for lifelong learning.

About us

The post holder will have the opportunity to participate in shaping and embedding a strong educational framework within the Trust by providing consistent support to our trainee doctors. The SMEA will also need to build strong working relationships with our clinical educators and other administrative colleagues

Essential

  • Educated to Diploma level or equivalent qualification or level of experience
  • GCSEs grade 9-4 in English and Maths, or equivalent

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Substantial experience in secretarial and administrative procedures.
  • Sound practical knowledge of and experience in electronic communications including social media and website management
  • Sound knowledge and understanding in the use and maintenance of databases
  • Ability to take responsibility for large projects including experience of project planning, deadlines and reporting
