Team Leader, Specialist Older Adults' Mental Health Service

Job summary
The Specialist Older Adults' Mental Health Service in Brighton and Hove is divided in to two teams based in the east and west of the city and also has a Care Home Inreach Team who work in care homes across the City. We are recruiting into the fulltime team lead post for the East team based at Brighton General Hospital.
This team is integrated with staff from Brighton and Hove City Council under a Section 75 agreement. The team provide specialist assessment, treatment and care to a caseload of older people with mental health problems.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have effective leadership skills and will be enthusiastic, clinically experienced and motivated to promote the best possible outcomes for our patients. You will be an excellent communicator and will be able to show initiative in an environment which is often busy, rewarding and dynamic. Responsibilities will include line management of the staff team incorporating supervision, caseload reviews and advice on risk management. You will need to manage referrals and the functions of the team and support the service when responding to complaints and Serious incidents.
You will have a strong sense of team work and be able to demonstrate how you have worked within a team and brought about change. You will understand the Key Performance Indicators, the need to succeed with our CQUIN targets, and to be knowledgeable on all CQC requirements. You will have access to regular supervision which will identify further opportunities for training and career development. You will also be part of the Brighton and Hove SOAMHS leadership team and as such will be able to lead on service developments and initiatives. Applicants should be a Registered Mental Health Nurse or Qualified Social Worker or Occupational Therapist.
