Do you have the compassion and resilience to lead a team working in a trauma informed model of care?
As Ward Manager on Hazel Ward, you will understand that recovery cannot be forced. You will create an environment that supports meaningful relationships, and opportunities that support people to make sense of their risk behaviour in the context of their trauma history.
You will understand the challenges and rewards of working with women in a low secure setting and ensure that evidence-based practice underpins everything that we do. Leading on the operational management structures of the ward, you will ensure that the highest standards of care are achieved and maintained.
It is our job to make sure that you succeed in yours, so you will have access to high quality supervision with our Matron and Nurse Consultant, with a bespoke PDP and CPD opportunities.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the management and leadership of an MDT over a 24-hour period.
- Have a creative approach to budget management to ensure the very highest standards of care are delivered within the resources available.
- Provide meaningful management supervision and appraisals to a range of senior professionals focussing on wellbeing, objectives and support.
- Ensure that quality assurance audits are delegated throughout the team, with positive feedback being the driver in maintaining these standards.
- Identify and lead on quality improvement projects that will improve patient and staff experiences.
- Regularly attend the Working Together Group and community meetings to ensure authentic co-development in embedded throughout the ward.
- Chair MDT and staff meetings in a way that encourages participation from all members of the team.
- Be part of the leadership team at the Chichester Centre and deputise for the Matron as required in a range of senior leadership roles and responsibilities.
