We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 8b Principal Practitioner Psychologist to join our CAMHS team based at St. Annes, Hastings, East Sussex. The post is for 0.6 wte and is a permanent contract.
We are seeking to recruit a passionate and committed Principal Practitioner Psychologist to join our well-established team. We are looking for someone who is committed to the provision of excellent, evidenced based clinical intervention who will support the team to maintain a robust therapy programme and a psychologically informed model of care.
You will be joining a friendly, supportive and creative multi-disciplinary team, dedicated to providing a high-quality service which complements the work done by our wider CAMHS colleagues and in liaison/partnership with other key young people's services. Our core business includes assessing young people's mental health, including attention to risk management and care planning, and working with families and the wider systems that support young people. We are committed to working in collaboration with the children, young people and families accessing our service.
You will have opportunities for Continuing Professional Development and be encouraged to contribute to the professional development of other staff members and trainees. You will also join our local psychology Team and the Sussex-wide Psychology and Therapies Leadership Team.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of an experienced therapies team in which you will provide a professional and clinical leadership role, providing a high quality, specialist psychology service to children, young people and their families/carer's. You will undertake complex assessments of mental health need and develop formulations of need and risk, and deliver evidence-based interventions focused on mental health . You will be responsible for the supervision and governance of psychologists and psychological therapists within the service and will support psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation and training. You will work in conjunction with the wider psychology team and MDTs to deliver excellent care. In addition, you will utilise analytic skills for audit, service development and research, taking a lead on service development projects.
You will work closely with the Lead psychologist and operational managers within East Sussex.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Scope and Authority

- To work autonomously within professional guidelines. - Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision.
- Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care.
- Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
- Skills in clinical project management and resource allocation.
- Demonstrate support for the values and beliefs of the Care Group and those of the Trust.

- To contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings and agencies serving the client group.
- To offer highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation
- Provide expert advice, consultation, training and clinical supervision to other members of the service.
- To provide clinical and professional supervision to qualified psychologists and psychological therapists in the service
- To exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service area.
- To be responsible for contributing psychological knowledge and expertise to policy and service development through participation, where practical, in regional multidisciplinary meetings and special interest groups, working parties etc that may impact on the functioning of the whole care group.
