Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced CBT Therapist to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIPS) in the Western locality (Bognor and Chichester), based at the Bedale Centre in Bognor Regis.

The Bognor EIPS are a friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team providing support and treatment to people aged 14 - 65 who have experienced a First Episode of Psychosis or present with an At Risk Mental State. We are looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic CBT Therapist to offer evidence-based psychological interventions. Psychological approaches are highly valued in EIPS, and you will have the opportunity to support psychologically-informed practice within the team.Experience in working with people with psychosis is highly desirable although there will be opportunities for relevant training (e.g. Daniel Freeman's Feeling Safe Programme), and linking in with the Sussex Psychosis Experiences and Recovery (SuPER) clinic. Our service also has a strong culture of family inclusive practice, and we support our staff in accessing training in Family Interventions for psychosis as appropriate. We have a strong commitment to compassionate leadership and professional development, and you will be provided with specialist psychosis supervision, peer CBTp Supervision and you will be joining a positive and welcoming community of staff from the psychological professions working across EIPS in the Trust.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior CBT Therapist working in our Bognor EIPS, you will work closely with the team's Senior Psychologist, and multi-disciplinary colleagues. Your main responsibility will be the provision of high quality assessments, formulations and evidence-based interventions to people experiencing psychosis and At Risk Mental States. You will also contribute to regular team clinical discussions, groups and assist with team case formulations in order to support the team in delivering psychologically-informed care. In order to join our team as a Senior CBT Therapist you will have: A recognised postgraduate qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP). A qualification in one of the core mental health professions recognised by BABCP; and current registration with the core professional body or evidence of having achieved the Knowledge Skills and Attitudes (KSA) route to BABCP accreditation. Substantial experience in CBT, and be passionate about working with people experiencing early psychosis.

It would also be advantageous if you have: Experience and qualifications in CBT for psychosis.

The post is part-time, 4 days a week, from 9am to 5pm. Working days are negotiable, but would need to include a Thursday. The post will be made up of a combination of face to face clinical work, office time and remote working as appropriate.
