Job summary

We wish to appoint a part-time Research Assistant (15 hours per week) to play a vital role in the delivery of a multi-site Randomised Controlled Trial of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for clients experiencing psychosis. The trial is part of an established programme of research and clinical activity that is seeking to increase access to CBT for this client group.

We would welcome applications from people who are well organised, have excellent interpersonal skills and are passionate about improving services for clients experiencing psychosis.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will support the delivery of a trial of CBT offered to clients with a diagnosis of psychosis.

The role will involve liaison with clients, clinicians, the Clinical Trials Unit and members of the research team at other sites. Main duties will include the recruitment of participants and the collection and collation of assessment data.

The postholder will be supervised by an experienced Clinical Psychologist.

  • Diploma or Higher National Certificate in Research

Desirable

  • Hold a relevant undergraduate degree at 2:1 or equivalent

  • Training / facilitation experience
  • Research experience
  • Experience of working with people with severe and enduring mental illness.
