Job summary
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated Administrator to join our busy Child and Adolescent Mental Health Community Team based in Worthing Hospital. The post holder will provide administrative support to the clinical team, including the Locality Manager as well as supervision and leadership to the administration team.
The work is varied and challenging, providing secretarial and administrative support to a broad multi-disciplinary team, dealing with queries from service users, doctors, other agencies and members of the public.
Your role will be crucial in helping to ensure the team's key performance targets are met through administrative support and processes. You will have experience in effectively implementing new systems.
Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage the workload and administration team. You should possess excellent computer skills and have significant secretarial experience.A sound understanding of Clinical Information Systems is highly desirable. You will need to possess the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team but within departmental guidelines.
Main duties of the job
To provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to clinical staff including the manager, supervising the administration team and ensuring the smooth running of the office function, including ensuring sufficient cover is provided in times of sickness and annual leave.
To be responsible for maintaining sickness and absence records for all staff and related employee information.
To act as central secretarial and administrative contact point for the team.
To supervise junior staff including, where appropriate, allocating workload and reviewing performance.
To maintain an overview of the administration function and workflow within the team.
To consistently deliver a client focussed service, which promotes good customer service and effective working relationships.
