Sussex CAMHS is at the beginning of a crucial and innovative expansion, which will see a substantial amount of growth in a variety of teams across Brighton and Hove, East & West Sussex.
As part of this expansion we have funding to recruit to a number of new posts in our Neurodevelopmental pathway, providing community CAMHS support for young people and their families/ carers.
If you are a Clinical Psychologist, with a drive and motivation to support young people living with neurodevelopmental problems, then our Band 7 Clinical Psychologist position may be the role for you!
This post is part of a wider, well established MDT, dedicated to providing a high-quality ND service that complements the work of our wider CAMHS colleagues.
You will join our local Psychology and Psychological Therapies (PPT) group, contributing to our innovation and commitment to ongoing service improvement and compassionate care. You will also join an established group of CAMHS Clinical Psychologists.
Main duties of the job
As part of the Sussex CAMHS team, you will join the other MDT colleagues in providing ASC assessments, formulation, individual and group interventions and consultation .
You will work closely with your team colleagues, the local 8a Clinical Psychologist and the Locality Manager. You will receive high standards of supervision including secondary supervision packages in CBT, IPT, EMDR, DBT, ASD and group work. CAMHS also support a number of innovative audit and evaluation projects, run groups such as parent/ carer anxiety groups and provide training to PsychD courses and the SPFT New to CAMHS training.
As part of the Neurodevelopmental pathway within CAMHS your responsibilities will include supporting Stage 1 screening and Stage 2 autistic spectrum and ADHD assessments. You will offer assessments, formulation and consultation, particularly for autistic spectrum disorders and will work closely with our Band 8a.
