Job summary

An opportunity has arisen with the Clinical Audit Team for a Clinical Audit Assistant. This post has personal development opportunities within the wider Clinical Audit and Quality Improvement function.

The individual occupying this post will be responsible for;

Project support for specific quality improvement projects within the clinical services, clinical audit and quality improvement priority plan including -

  • Project planning with healthcare professionals & service users.
  • Ongoing support for projects in line with the Clinical Audit plan
  • Advise and support on data analysis/ using data for improvement

Maintain and develop back office Clinical Audit Team functions and team administration.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the Clinical Audit Assistant are to support and assist the design, coordination and implementation of clinical audit and quality improvement projects in Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Which will include the scheduling of annual national and local audit activity, engaging with staff in the Trust involved in clinical audit and quality improvement projects.

Assisting with the input of data relating to audits, and the analysis of quantitative data. As well as assisting in approval and registration of clinical audit and quality improvement projects.

the role holder will be responsible for organising meetings associated with clinical audit projects. Arranging and administering team meetings and away days. Draft briefings around clinical audit projects for teams as appropriate and undertake presentations as required.

The post holder will also be responsible for taking and transcribing formal minutes; regular requirement to use computer software to develop or create reports and documents, maintaining the highest standards of record keeping, report writing and attention to detail.

Provide and receive sensitive information, where persuasive, motivational, training, empathic and reassurance skills are required.

  • Work closely with staff in the Trust involved in clinical audit and quality improvment projects
  • Support the Quality Improvement Department in promoting improvement activity and strategy across the Trust.

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Understanding of a range of work procedures and practices, the majority of which are non-routine, which require intermediate level theoretical knowledge.
