Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Trust as Associate Director of Workforce Planning, Systems & Intelligence to support the Chief People Officer in leading the ongoing development, delivery, governance and evaluation of the People & Culture Plan within SPFT.
This will include taking lead responsibility in providing a comprehensive workforce planning, systems and intelligence function for the Trust. Specifically designing, developing, implementing and commissioning (where appropriate) a range of strategic workforce planning interventions to support the delivery of the Trusts 'Road to Recovery' strategy, overall objectives and linked to the annual planning process which aligns to the NHS Long Term People Plan (LTP), Mental Health Implementation Plan (MIP), NHS People and Workforce Plans.
In addition, to hold lead responsibility for and manage all workforce information systems and to ensure that a suite of regular, timely and relevant workforce information is provided to all levels of the organisation. Similarly, to provide the people directorate and wider management teams with the required range and depth of workforce analytics on which sound business decisions can be made and which will inform national annual and monthly workforce returns i.e. NHSE Operational and Workforce, Transformation and Education plans.
Main duties of the job
A key part of the role will be externally facing - as a Senior Leader for workforce planning within the ICS, the role will support alignment of the workforce planning strategy across relevant health and social care services, to enable transparent partnership arrangements to flourish in support of future service provision. This will include representing the Trust at significant decision-making forums and deputising for the Chief People Officer in areas relevant to the role.
As a core member of the senior Chief People Office and Corporate Services Teams the post-holder will provide strong, visible and active leadership together with ongoing support in respect of the development of corporate policy and decision-making. In addition, provide visible workforceplanning, systems and intelligence leadership to the Directors, Clinicians and Senior Managers across the Trust and services to support the Trust's ambitions and priorities.
Lead the specialist teams who deliver workstreams against the high-level themes of planning, systems and intelligence to develop a trusted, reliable set of workforce metrics which is consistently used across the Trust, including at Board level to enable strategic thinking and decision-making.
To lead, facilitate cultural and transformational change in support of new ways of working across the Trust.
