Community Mental Health Practitioner - East Sussex - Band 6 - Full-Time permanent post

Are you an enthusiastic, qualified Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Mental Health Nurse with experience of working in mental health services?

Our adult community services are currently undergoing a really positive transformation and we need your expertise to help lead and embed the changes to ensure our service users get the full benefits for their recovery journeys.

The post is based with the Assessment and Treatment Service at Hill Rise in Newhaven, which is a fishing town on the Sussex coast that sits in the beautiful South Downs National Park. The vibrant city of Brighton is just a short drive away and there are regular train links to London. You can even get the ferry to France if you fancy a trip.

Here at Hill rise, we have a strong set of values that imbue everything we do. If you work for us, you will be involved in bold and innovative service improvements and take part in researching new evidence-based practices. You will be given every opportunity you need, to develop professionally; to enhance your clinical skills and to realize your potential.

Main duties of the job

The Hill Rise Assessment and Treatment Service is part of a lively multi-disciplinary service for adults with severe mental illness. The role is all about improving outcomes for this patient group, working creatively with patients and their Carers to co-create care and risk plans that will help them achieve their goals and to live as independently as possible. This key to success is often about building effective partnerships with GPs, Crisis services, housing and other third sector providers or we might decide to refer patients onto one of our more specialist services, such as our Early intervention in Psychosis or Eating disorders.

You must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible and able to work as part of multidisciplinary team and demonstrate a commitment to the recovery model.

If you are a newly qualified and interested in a development post, please do apply and contact us if you would like to learn more about our preceptorship pathway.
