Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Qualified CBT Therapist or Clinical Psychologist to join the new and evolving Mental Health provision across G.P Surgeries / Primary Care Networks in Hampshire. This is a trailblazing service provision that is leading the way nationally to provide this support for children and young people service. The role will be a blend of delivering high intensity CBT provision across Primary Care in Hampshire alongside leading a team of low intensity practitioners, so a real opportunity to grow and develop leadership skills.

Main duties of the job

The team is currently made up of qualified Children Wellbeing Practitioners and Senior Wellbeing Practitioners and we are now looking to expand and integrate high intensity CBT provision in to this model.

This team forms part of the Early Help provision within across Hampshire so will be working closely with the existing Primary Mental Health Workers and Mental Health support Teams in Schools as well as the Specialist Locality Based Community CAMHS Teams.

The postholder will be the Clinical Team Lead for this team so will either possess or be willing to work towards CBT Supervisor Accreditation. They will be the lead position for the low intensity and high intensity clinicians working within this new provision. This is a really exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership skills by supporting the development of a new part of the service which is a nationally pioneering service model nationally.

As part of this role you would contribute to the core work of the team as well as offering more specialist clinical interventions.   • Recognised/accredited postgraduate level training in a psychological therapy as specified in the appendix.
  • Professionally registered as specified in the Appendix

Knowledge/Experience

Essential

  • Substantial post-qualification/accreditation experience of specialist psychological therapy (assessment, formulation and treatment), as specified in the Appendix, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse
  • A high level of competence in applying a psychological therapy to complex difficulties appropriate for this therapy with the client group, and a proven track record of delivering positive outcomes in this therapy
  • Experience of offering teaching, training and supervision within a demanding organisational context.
  • A clear and theoretically informed approach to supervision
  • Experience of representing psychological therapy within the context of multi-disciplinary care within a complex organisational context.
  • Significant experience of working with the particular client group served by the team/service
  • Knowledge of guidance and legislation in relation to the client group
  • A high level specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapy as specified in the appendix, as applied to the client group using this service.
  • Experience of the application of psychological therapy in different cultural contexts and experience of working within a multicultural framework.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the professional registration/accrediting body specified in the appendix.
  • Knowledge of Primary Care environments
  • Knowledge of safeguarding issues
  • Knowledge of capacity and consent issues including Gillick competence
