Job summary
A great opportunity has become available for 3 x 1.0 WTE highly motivated & passionate Band 7 Dual Diagnosis Practitioners to work within a number of Inpatient & Community Rehabilitation services across the whole of Sussex. Supporting individuals with complex psychosis or treatment resistant psychosis & co-occurring problematic substance misuse, as described within the NICE Guidance for Rehabilitation:
- 1.0 WTE Coastal West Sussex Enhanced Community Rehab Service (ECRS) Western Hub and Connolly House
- 1.0 WTE East Sussex Rehab Pathway (ESRP) Amberstone Hospital
- 0.5 WTE East Sussex Rehab Pathway (ESRP) Community Team
- 0.5 WTE 78 Crawley Road High Dependency Rehab, NW Sussex
The two 0.5 WTE posts listed above could also be combined to form a 1.0 WTE post.
For applicants who lack some of the experience or knowledge within the JD/Person Spec, we may be able to offer a band 6-7 development programme. You would be supported by your Dual Diagnosis colleagues to undertake a competency-based development programme of 6-12 months. For the duration of this you would be paid as a B6 and on successful completion you would obtain B7. You would be required to travel to other sites to be supported by your colleagues and may need to spend time within drug and alcohol services observing practice. If you are not successful in completing the development programme after 12 months and cannot demonstrate extenuating circumstances, you may be redeployed to another band 6 position within the trust.
Main duties of the job
Successful applicants will be able to improve the quality of assessment and treatment for people with both mental health and substance misuse issues, to have experience in and specialist knowledge of evidence-based interventions and lead on their dissemination across clinical areas and be able to establish professional relationships with other system partners and professionals to shape better care.
Within this role you would be required to provide specialist training and advice to other professionals and agencies, to clinically supervise other members of your teams, and to facilitate area communities of practice to promote skills sharing, reciprocity and clinical network development.
You will also have the opportunity to develop teaching and training sessions for staff and professionals on your specialist subject area, develop joint working protocols and pathways and contribute towards continuous service development, and to undertake research, service evaluation and clinical audit and participate in clinical quality and governance forums as required.
You will need to be able to provide effective leadership and supportive management which promotes high performance standards both individually and as a team.
