Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for maternity cover for a Senior Psychology Assistant in the Sussex & Surrey Intensive Intervention and Risk Management Services (IIRMS). This role focuses onservice development evaluation; and assisting to engage individuals in psychosocial interventions to support and enable recovery.

This is an innovative joint service between Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and the Probation Service. IIRMSs are part of a wider strategy to implement the national Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Strategy. The IIRMS works with service users who are on the OPD Pathway, managed by the Probation Service, and who are perceived to be at high risk of breaching their orders and being recalled to custody. The risk of this is likely to be reduced by intensive engagement resettlement work which aims to increase social/support networks and increase independent living skills. You will be joining a small multidisciplinary team comprised of Mental Health Practitioners, Probation and Psychologists. The role is varied and offers opportunities for dynamic community outreach work.

All roles within our team will have access to national and local OPD training and continuing professional development is actively encouraged. Regular individual and group supervision is central to the role.
