The East Sussex CAMHS Team offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced RMN, Social worker or OT keen to apply their skills across a range of settings to help young people needing CAMHS intervention.
The role will be variable and exciting, sometimes challenging and there is a need for flexibility but it is always very interesting and rewarding.
You will undertake Initial Assessments and provide Lead Practitioner interventions as part of our new and developing Stepped Care Model.
You will need to be motivated, forward thinking and have a strong commitment to providing high quality care to provide the best outcomes for young people. Excellent risk assessment and safety planning skills are essential to this role.
Main duties of the job
This is a developing service and there will be an opportunity in this role to deliver therapeutic interventions alongside crisis care planning and management.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Professional functions
Educational
- To identify ones own training needs through a Personal Development Plan (PDP). Access relevant To develop & maintain specialist clinical skills and expertise in the assessment and appropriate treatment of young people referred to CAMHS
- To offer advice on management and treatment of patients with mental health issues and to offer appropriately planned interventions where appropriate.
- To act as Lead Practitioner to an allocated caseload of young people and ensure assessment, care and support of each client is appropriate to their individual needs.
- To take lead responsibility for care and risk plans.
- To ensure that children and young people requiring further assessment and help are referred on appropriately.
- To provide consultation to other professionals regarding mental health issues in relation to young people and their families
- To know how to access appropriate services and develop effective networks and channels of communications.
- To adhere to relevant code of Professional Conduct.
- To attend case conferences & meetings as relevant to the job description and contribute to the wider multi -disciplinary team.
- Work in accordance with Sussex Partnership Foundation NHS and East Sussex Hospital trusts policies, guidelines and protocols.
Managerial
- To ensure care plans and risk plans are valid
- To participate in individual professional supervision
- courses/conferences nationally or locally as identified on P.D.P./Appraisal
- To demonstrate awareness of research and its applications to practice.
