Job summary

As part of the Trust clinical transformation, we have been able to secure additional investment for medicines optimisation in patients under the care of the Urgent Care Workstream. This comprises the mental health crisis teams, urgent care lounges and mental health liaison services within each locality of the Trust. We are recruiting to maternity leave cover to support the East Sussex Urgent Care Pharmacy Team.

Initially the focus will be to develop medicines optimisation standards and assurance within Urgent Care services, and developing the role within mental health liaison services. There is scope for these roles to develop as independent prescribers and as Advanced Clinical Practitioners within services.

Main duties of the job

The role will support all aspects of medicines optimisation within urgent care service within a defined geography. This roles will develop the support to improve medicines optimisation to patients under the care of crisis teams and on admission to acute Trusts within East Sussex.

The role will support the Lead Pharmacist in developing the medicines strategy and standards within the service.

You will be in a team of a Lead Pharmacist as well as a senior technician, and will have links with the wider UC pharmacy team.

Essential

  • Degree in Pharmacy at a British School of Pharmacy, or recognised equivalent
  • Clinical Pharmacy post graduate qualification (e.g. certificate or diploma)

  • To have demonstrable evidence of having met the full gateway KSF for 6 Rotational Pharmacist
