Job summary
As a Senior Practitioner Psychologist working within CRHT you will work closely with the MDT to ensure a trauma-informed, therapeutic culture is promoted and embedded with collaborative service user engagement. You will work closely with the 8b Principal Psychologist to provide leadership around the implementation of evidence-based interventions.
The role includes providing individual and group evidence-based interventions for people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. Formulation skills will be an important part of the role as you lead on team formulation which is valued part of MDT working and care planning.
As a senior member of our Psychological Therapies team in East Sussex, you will be required to offer supervision to psychological therapists within the service as well as contributing to the senior leadership team. You will have regular clinical and professional supervision including specialist clinical supervision (i.e. EMDR, DBT, CBT). We have a strong network of diverse and supportive psychology colleagues who meet regularly as part of peer networking across East Sussex and the wider SPFT.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, you will deliver and oversee clinical work provided in the service as well as having responsibility for its day-to-day running.
Psychological approaches include CBT, ACT, CFT and systemic therapies and reflect the wide-ranging issues. Formulation and planning around risk management is particularly important within this role.
You will attend MDT meetings within CRHT and offer consultation and support to other health professionals. The role provides excellent opportunities for someone who enjoys or would like experience working in a fully integrated MDT working with individuals accessing acute and urgent care services.
We are building a new hospital in Bexhill to replace our inpatient services at the Department of Psychiatry. This means that, if you are successful in your application, you will be asked to transfer to the new facilities when they open in 2025

- To clinically and professionally supervise or manage assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists and junior psychologists, psychological therapists or counsellors and other staff as appropriate.
- To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service/team.
- To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the teams operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit.
