Band 4 Eating Disorders Practitioner
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic Eating Disorder Practitionerto join our Children and Young People's Service (ChYPS) based at Crawley Down in West Sussex. The post is open to Occupational Therapists, Nurses and Social Workers.
You will be joining a service of highly skilled and experienced Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychology and Assistant Psychologists, Nurses, Dietitian, Support Workers and Occupational Therapists. Our team is responsible for covering all of Sussex.
We offer and support hybrid and flexible working, we require staff to be on site for 60% of their working week.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide physical health care monitoring to young people referred with an eating disorder within the Child and Young People's Service (ChYPS). Liaise with families/carers, other professionals and organisations to promote communication and good practice. Comprehensive training will be provided combined with ongoing support and mentorship.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Psychologists, Dietician, Support Workers and Medics to support evidence-based care for young people and their families.

The post holder will work under the direction of a registered nurse for the following duties to:
- Maintain safety, privacy and dignity of all young people in the delivery of patient centred care, recognising and respecting differences including spiritual and cultural beliefs
- Support the delivery of Physical Healthcare
- Participate in the undertaking of physical health assessments
- Contribute to effective risk management and care planning to ensure young peoples physical healthcare and wellbeing needs are met
- Engage in the ongoing development of SFEDS
- Ensure that clinical practice is evidence based and consistent with relevant NICE guidelines and Trust policies and procedures
- Undertake mandatory and other surveillance programmes that promote best practice.
