Do you have expertise in working in Forensic Healthcare and a passion for service development and multi-agency working? We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to help develop and shape our expanding Intensive Intervention Risk Management Service (IIRMS), part of the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway.
The Offender Personality Pathway is a national programme run jointly by NHS England and HMPPS that launched in 2012. The Programme provides services for people who have offended who are deemed to be high risk or very high likelihood of harmful offending, have significant psychological and social problems (a likely personality disorder), and where there is a link between these two issues.
The four aims of the programme are to reduce harmful reoffending, increase psychological wellbeing, develop a competent trained workforce, and deliver services in the most efficient manner. Sussex and Surrey Chiron, Intensive Intervention and Risk Management Services (IIRMS) support people who have a history of repeated breaches of licence, or due to the nature of their sentences, are un-tested in the community, during the transition from custody to community.
All roles within our team have access to national and local OPD training and continuing professional development is actively encouraged. This may include Advance Clinical Practitioner training.
Main duties of the job
To manage a caseload of complex clients, using evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.To provide specialist clinical advice and input for clients with complex problems and needs.To ensure occupational therapy contribution to the provision of quality clinical care and performance standardsTo participate in the planning, development and evaluation of occupational therapy and local services within a designated team, holding responsibility for defined projects.
Ability to travel between bases is essential. Prison and community visits within and outside of Surrey and Sussex will form part of the role
