Job summary

Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team - Hastings - Team Leader

We are looking for an experienced clinician to lead our Crisis Team in Hastings.

The Crisis Team is part of the Urgent Care pathway based at Woodlands Centre for Acute Care. The team work closely with the acute inpatient wards, the Haven, the Mental Health Liaison Team and the community assessment and treatment service to support people who are in mental health crisis. The Team provides intensive care and support to people in their own homes or at base as an alternative to hospital admission. The Crisis team is a multidisciplinary team that consists of nurses, doctors, psychologists, support workers and peer support workers. The team also facilitate supportive discharge from hospital and to support the transition back to community-based services.

Main duties of the job

A good team leader is someone who is enthusiastic, clinically experienced and motivated to promote the best possible outcomes for our patients. You will be an excellent communicator and will be able to show initiative in an environment which is often busy, dynamic but rewarding. Along with the generic responsibilities you would expect such as supervising the team, meeting quality targets and working within a specified budget, you will also be expected to build trusting relationships with local partners and be instrumental in the further development of our service as it continues to grow.

You will be fully supported and empowered to make a difference and to creatively develop new ways of working. We would love a team leader who wishes to develop their leadership and management skills and we will facilitate this with regular supervision, training and development opportunities and support from a professional, friendly leadership team who are committed to providing high quality care.

About us

Requirements

To be a successful Team Leader in our service you will be:

  • A Registered Mental Health Nurse OR Qualified Social Worker or Occupational Therapist
  • Experienced and highly skilled in treating individuals with mental health problems
  • Able to work effectively with other professionals to manage complex and demanding situations

It would also be advantageous if you have:

  • An interest in quality improvement and a recovery focused model of care
  • Experience in managing a team of clinicians
