Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual who is a registered nonmedical prescriber (NMP) with experience of working in a community setting. As a registered professional (RMN, Pharmacist, Allied Health Care Professional) you will be committed to providing a high-quality service and have a desire to support in the development of our ADHD clinic across the Chichester and Bognor ATS teams.

The Chichester and Bognor ATSs' are friendly and innovative multi-disciplinary teams who work in an exciting and challenging environment, with high levels of complexity and risk. The team has a strong person-centred approach, working with clients and carers to achieve positive outcomes for both.

We are looking for someone with strong leadership and communication skills with ademonstrable track record of prescribing practice and detailed working knowledge of medication management and adherence issues.

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID.

Main duties of the job

You will undertake comprehensive assessments of service users with suspected ADHD using your clinical skills and knowledge to explore appropriate treatment and care options. Working as an autonomous prescriber, you will effectively manage a dedicated caseload.

You will work collaboratively with an identified Consultant Psychiatrist and have access to Trust wide NMP Forum to support with CPD.

There are opportunities to assist with teaching of other professionals in this specialist area and contribute to service development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians who are passionate about improving service user experience and dedicated to raising the profile of neurodevelopmental disorders.

Your role will be to provide specialist assessments and nursing interventions, to adults people who have been referred in for an ADHD assessment and those open to the team's ADHD clinic. You will lead on developing the ADHD clinic, including the carrying out of physical observations, and will work closely with psychiatry colleagues in the team. In addition to your specialist NMP role, you will support the work of the wider team by contributing to Duty cover as well as offering initial assessments to people referred to the service. As a senior clinician, you will support the development of more junior staff, and contribute to the wider leadership of the team.

About us

The service prioritises staff wellbeing and we encourage colleagues to maintain a healthy and positive work-life balance. Leadership is strong and supportive, and our ethos is to encourage people to work creatively and be innovative to support new and different ways of working.

There is a strong network of NMP within the service with a plan for further expansion. We have robust NMP supervision and governance structures. As well as specialist NMP supervision, there are frequent NMP peer support and governance meetings and quarterly CPD meetings with medical and pharmacy colleagues.

Sussex Partnership values the contributions that nursing colleagues bring and has a well-established nursing structure and strategy. Supportive supervision and governance arrangements are in place so that staff are able to practice safely and effectively. Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is supportive of clinicians' professional development and provides access to quality training opportunities.
